- A mortgage is possible with a temporary, permanent or EU long-term resident card.
- Banks require different remaining card validity on the application date.
- The loan term is usually not capped by card validity.
Permanent or EU long-term resident card
The strongest status: most banks treat you almost like a Polish citizen. You get the widest choice of offers on standard terms.
Temporary residence card
A mortgage is possible, but requirements vary: some banks want a few months of validity left, others a year or more; some then limit the amount or term. The key is to apply where your card qualifies.
Card expiring soon — what now?
If you've applied for a new permit, you have a certificate from the MOS system confirming legal stay. Some banks accept it, others wait for the new card. We time your application so your status doesn't block the decision.
CUKR card and UKR status
Ukrainian citizens with a CUKR card hold a temporary residence permit — many banks treat it like a standard residence card. PESEL UKR alone (temporary protection) is accepted by only a few banks.
